From Function to Feeling
Sleep is deeply personal, but the language around it can easily become clinical, overly functional, or predictably serene. Calm Sleep's product experience needed a visual system that could support the practical rituals of winding down while also capturing the more human, emotional feeling of drifting from wakefulness to sleep.
Shaping the System
We created a scalable visual language that moves from practical to poetic, using atmospheric light as color, human presence, and abstracted metaphors to shift familiar moments into dreamlike ones. This strategy gave Calm Sleep a flexible way to guide users' sleep journies with ease, while maintaining a consistent sense of warmth, quiet, and emotional comfort.
